Maybe it’s just me, but something about summer has me eating all sorts of junk. There’s something about this killer heat that makes me want to curl up on the couch and eat ice cream out of the carton all day! I know I can’t make this a habit, so in the spirit of making better food choices, I went out on a search of foods that will make my waistline happy and won’t leave me starving.
Lucky for me, Self Magazine put together a list of 20 Superfoods that fight fat while giving your body the proper nutrients it needs. Some of these foods are everyday items that end up in my fridge regularly, while others are commodities that I wouldn’t know where to locate in Waco groceries. I honestly can’t say I’ve encountered a Goji berry in the produce section at HEB any time recently.
With these superfoods ranging from steak to quinoa to Parmesan, Leah and I were inspired to utilize more of these ingredients in meals that are all about eating what’s good for you without sacrificing flavor. For the next four weeks, Leah will be sharing creative ways to incorporate these superfoods into deliciously wholesome meals, with the first recipe debuting on Wednesday! As photographer/taste tester, I’m thrilled to learn more about choosing beneficial foods and sharing them with y’all!
