Can y’all believe that November is over already? I can’t believe how quickly the time flew by. We certainly enjoyed our Thanksgiving break with our friends and families and hope y’all did the same.
Yesterday, we had the fun opportunity to dive head first into the holiday spirit with Baylor’s Student Activities Council. This year for Baylor’s annual Christmas on 5th celebration, we’ve been asked to decorate a Christmas tree in the Barfield Drawing Room. This isn’t any ordinary tree, either. We’ve put together a lovely tree that represents some of our favorite things at the Olive Branch (burlap and coffee? Yes please!) and included several of our great products that directly benefit Project (254), like our signature (254) coffee blend and Leah’s cookbook To Taste.
Additionally, patrons who visit the event on Thursday have the chance to bid on the tree of their choice. The highest bidder will receive our exclusive (254) gifts, as well as all the decorations on the tree, which gives you the opportunity to recreate it in your own home for the holidays. What’s even better? The entire proceeds from the tree and corresponding gifts go to the businesses’ charity of choice – in our case, Project (254)!
These fancy Fleur-de-lis are so fun! I love the subtle sparkle they add to the tree.
These little birdies are my favorite! I think they add a great flair to the other decorations.
In addition to sprinkling little burlap bows all over, we opted for a less-traditional tree skirt of burlap. We even incorporated a coffee sack from our Costa Rican coffee supplier!
Be sure to stop by all the fun holiday festivities this Thursday at 7 p.m. in the Bill Daniel Student Center and in the Vara Martin Daniel Plaza. Even if you aren’t interested in bidding, check out all the beautiful trees decorated by your local businesses and find out more about all their wonderful charities of choice. We’ll also be supplying hot cocoa and apple cider to purveyors and would love to see y’all there!
