I hope everyone is loving this beautiful weather! I was worried for a minute there this whole week would be blustery and rainy, but I’m so glad the sun came out for a bit. A rainy Spring Break doesn’t sound fun at all.
It seems that everyone I know is hightailing it to Florida this week. I personally would rather skip the crowded beaches in exchange for some hometown fun. In between classes, work and the duties of daily life, it’s difficult to find time to enjoy the little gems that lie undiscovered and unappreciated in our town.
While this gorgeous weather lasts, take the kids for frozen yogurt and sit outside in Cameron Park. Our sweet neighbors at Oso’s have new mouthwatering flavors like Georgia Peach and Pomegranate Raspberry Sorbet, which practically beg to be enjoyed outside!
All our furry friends at the Cameron Park Zoo will be out basking in this sunshine, too. The zoo has so many attractions that are fun for the entire family. It’s also a great location for an afternoon date or day spent with friends.
If you haven’t yet been to the Dr Pepper Museum, you simply must go! It’s almost silly to live in Waco and not learn a little more about Dr Pepper’s roots.
If you’re across I-35 exploring Baylor’s beautiful campus, stop by the Mayborn Museum. I’ve heard rumors of an interactive juggling exhibit going on this Wednesday. I’m terrible at juggling, but how fun would it be to learn from real professionals?
Of course, we’d love to spend a little bit of your Spring Break with you! Our cinnamon walnut pancakes are a decadent way to start your day. Cupcake Happy Hour from 2 – 3 p.m. is also a great excuse to grab a sweet treat while you’re exploring downtown. We also have some fun specials for kids and teachers that we’re running this week.
