We sure have been busy these past few months, I don’t know where the time has gone! But as we come to a close of our busy season, we are excited to reflect back on what we’ve done and what this next year will bring.
Some of our favorite days come when we cater an event. Within the past few months we worked with the Junior League and various Baylor organizations for Homecoming breakfasts and parents weekend luncheons. One of the most rewarding catering events was when we donated spaghetti for a Baylor group’s fundraising event. All of their proceeds went toward St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and it was great to be a part of something so special!
Besides our busy schedule outside the cafe, Leah has been getting creative in the kitchen. As well as the every day cupcakes and treats we have, she has been designing some amazing cakes. One was made to look entirely like stained glass!
And another for a one-year-old’s birthday party!
We still have a lot going on upstairs in Spice Village too. On top of cooking and preparing lunches, Leah has her own little table with goodies for sale! Here you can buy all the works for making your own cupcakes at home. She’s added chocolate and vanilla cupcake mixes with cute accessories for decorating and presenting them. These new additions are a fun way to take a break from the kitchen for Leah! In addition to selling upstairs in Spice, we’ve also added the Roosevelt Ballroom as one of our new locations. There you can find special lunch items like chicken wraps and turkey sandwiches!
Most recently, Leah decorated a beautiful tree for Baylor’s Christmas on 5th Street. This tree was displayed at the event and then donated to a local charity to provide for a family in Waco.
So as you see, it has been a very crazy time for us. But, as we approach Christmas and reflect back on Thanksgiving, we cannot help but be thankful for this busy time and appreciate all it’s done for us. We have a lot to come and even more to be thankful for! We hope you, your friends, and family have a wonderful holiday!
