So it happened! It really happened! For 4 years I have wanted to host a murder mystery dinner at the Olive Branch. I am sure this desire has something to do with the fact that Clue was my FAVORITE board game growing up! Or that James Bond movies are my go-to source of entertainment. And, you got it, spy novels and “who-dunnits” are my favorite books.
It was a roaring success! We started off ambitiously aiming for 65 guests on a Friday night. That quickly ended up as 71 guests on a Friday night 3 weeks before the show! So…we added another. We had another 70 people on the following Saturday night!
The Brazos Theatre group worked so hard! They put together a funny and creative show complete with props, costumes, and a crazily twisted ending. Beth Richards and her crew spent many hours perfecting their lines and blocking. The whole cast was well-received!
We served a 4 course meal complete with appetizer and dessert and coffee. Our guests had a choice of seafood stuffed salmon and bacon wrapped beef tenderloin. Phew! It was a lot of work. But I am SO GLAD we did it!
I am looking forward to working with Brazos Theatre Group again and again! We have scheduled a night (actually 2) of improv for July. On July 12 and 13 we will open for a 2 hour show. An appetizer and dessert menu will be available for purchase before the show and during intermission. I think it is going to be a lot of fun! Be sure and get your tickets early as we anticipate selling out again!
If you haven’t already, “like” Brazos Theatre Group on Facebook to get all of their updates and pictures. They will post info about upcoming shows and getting tickets!
See y’all in July!
